This question might be best fit for Chevy since we are in the same vicinity and he’s in the business.

What do you think the average cost for a yard of clean topsoil delivered / dumped in driveway would be?

I’d say your looking at 30 a yd for lesser quantities like 3 or 4 yards, larger amounts like 15 to 20 yard loads the price will drop a little, most yards get 15 a yard picked up ..

I just don’t wanna dig the holes View attachment 32828

bury a few dog bones & maybe he'll take care of it for you...

I'm sure I don't have to tell you to space those suckers far apart. I was told 5 feet - should have been more like 10 feet. I put 3 of those in about 6 years ago. They easily got 8 to 10 feet wide & about 15 to 20 feet high. From growing together like they did - it cut off air supply (not enough air moving through the branches) & they began to develop mildew & I had to cut one of them down.

Not sure I can save the other two.

You could probably cover the section of fence by using 3 to 4 of the bushes you have there.

They are crap plants, but they serve the purpose I need. Trimming 2-3 times a year you can keep them the way you want.

Your back is thanking you. Mine curses at me when I decide to transplant 8 - 10' white pines or white birches from the "24/7 Across The Street Nursery"... As the years pass, and the "inventory" of the larger trees has dropped, I'm working with 3 - 4' trees now and my back is far happier...
But your wallet is much happier than mine.

But my back ain’t.

Your post was a call to action. Too cloudy & dank to work on boat so I figured I’d get some trees. Liberated 3 white pines, 1 white birch and a slew of tiger day lilies. Problem is I’m shot and I still have to plant ‘em.

A little more green in the garden.
The hosta I just removed from underneath the Arborvitae I plant a couple years ago. Arborvitae grew so much they where covering the Hosta, I expanded the bed 3 feet out to give room for the hosta and whatever other flowers I plant.??
