No need to panic Cellie. You're actually in the EPA recommended range of 6.5 - 8.5.

Alkaline pH in your drinking water is "OK", there is no hard rule on the upper pH end. My well water always bounces between just passing, pH 8.5, and just getting a "High pH" note @ 8.6 telling me it's high, but there's no reason to do anything, go figure...

I'm sure you're familiar with the Alkaline Water health kick that's going on, but those drinks run at pH's over 8. These are not naturally sourced waters, they're water with alkaline agents added. Not sure I'd want to be drinking that...

Although there are multiple ways to measure pH, they all measure the concentration of hydrogen ions in a solution.

The different COVID tests measure different signature compounds of the COVID virus in different sample matrices. Way beyond comparing apples to oranges...
