The Onancock Chronicles the Eastern shore

You'll be seeing a fair amount of him once you finally settle here. He seems to be all over the Eastern Shore lately. He proposed a few bills that will definitely benefit the Shore.

The first time I ran into him was at the Onancock Market. He was staying with friends/family & was picking up vegetables for that evening's dinner.

Second time I went to the movies in Town & he was sitting in the row in front of me.
Also Regularly attends the shows at North Street Playhouse - met him there as well.

BTW - the Playhouse puts on some damn good shows.

off the top of my head - no - doesn't sound familiar - doesn't mean I haven't been on it in my travels..................

What town is it in?
I'm only finding a Southside Road on the net in Onancock.

How did the meeting with the builder go ?
Went very well we liked him. We decided to go down to Cape Charles with him to look at some finished homes he'd completed. Next up get a current survey and then an estimate to clear an acre and mow some of the underbrush. Was good to meet Larry put a face with the "voice".

It looks like most of the houses down there need some love..[/QUOTE]

We're just outside of town we chose a development that has some covenants to ensure the area keeps it's appeal. We didn't want a junk yard popping up next door in the front yard.

you get a mix of that down here....................

Junk right next to an expensive (by ES standards) home.
You find that mostly on the outskirts of a town. Once in the Town's Corporate limits the issue mostly resolves itself. Most town's anywho.
A lot of homes need some form "of love" to one extent or another. Unless you're buying new.

Keep in mind - probably at least 1/2 of the houses down here were built in the early 1900's or earlier.

There are no "developments".
This is not Long Island.

believe you're out of the town corporate limits - will your build have Public Water & Garbage pick up?
We are outside of town limits so we'll have a septic system and well put in (we are perked). We may even go for geothermal. There are covenants all owners in this particular community must adhere to and most realtor descriptions of Onancock Proper homes/land that I've read refer to it as a development so thats how I've described our little piece of heaven. Whatever it's called it's like being in the country but not too rural we have neighbors we can easily walk to.

When I hear development I think of LI developments. As most probably do.
Sometimes gets a bit hard to reconcile the two in this "Land That Time Forgot".:D

That's similiar to the two areas I'm currently looking at. I was thinking of them as subdivisions because people are building homes of their choice instead of a builder putting up a bunch of cookie cutter homes. We are looking at two different subdivisions which are on Hungars creek, Vaucluse shores and Wilsonia shores.

Just got ac frp\om the Town Planning Commission Meeting - somehow I was tasked with reviewing the Town's Comprehensive Plan.
