A little more green in the garden.
The hosta I just removed from underneath the Arborvitae I plant a couple years ago. Arborvitae grew so much they where covering the Hosta, I expanded the bed 3 feet out to give room for the hosta and whatever other flowers I plant.??View attachment 32959View attachment 32960View attachment 32961

Your work is impeccable, but when the time comes, you really should consider retiring to a land of low-maintenance landscaping...

Hostas, Rhodys, etc.??? Why? The deer will only eat them...

Water the lawn?? Why?? The birds won't complain, and saves you from mowing which means more time to fish...

Bag the leaves?? Why??? Just slap on the backpack and blow them into the woods because you chose NOT to have your entire lot covered by grass...

Remove the moss from the lawn?? Why??? It's green...

Etc...

Post a pic of the area you want to plant, what direction it faces and how much sun /shade does it get.

Your open to just about anything. You can take the clump of hosta and divide it up to make a border along the cobblestone.Like I did in the backyard picture.
As far as trees and shrubs I don’t know what you like you could very small weeping Japanese maple on the left and on the corner you could put a weeping redbud it all depends on your taste in the middle you could put a couple of small evergreens like Mugo Pines , ilex, Euonymus,azalea, boxwood. The choice is yours ??
